Brant Wansley

Working in Atlanta, New York and Washington, D.C. before relocating to North Carolina, Brant has an outstanding track record as a brand strategist and new product leader.  His career includes senior marketing roles for such Fortune 100 companies as McDonald’s, Marriott and Merrill Lynch.  

In his work with leading advertising agencies, he has guided clients across a wide range of industries in development of brand strategies, positioning and marketing communications plans. He has authored articles on marketing strategy and marketing communications topics and was a featured speaker on brand strategies at the AMA’s Institute for Marketing Communications and Strategy in New York.

Brant received a B.A. in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a M.A. in marketing/advertising from Michigan State University. 

Bob Fellows 

Bob’s expertise in brand strategy and innovation led to senior strategy positions at international advertising agencies Leo Burnett and Interpublic Group and Fortune 100 companies Sara Lee and Hanesbrands. 

Bob has developed growth strategies and highly effective marketing communications campaigns for some of the world’s most influential brands, including Kellogg’s, United Airlines, Sara Lee, Hanes, Coach and Champion.  In addition, he created successful digital and e-commerce strategies for Sara Lee's leading brands.

Bob received a B.A. and M.A. in marketing/advertising from Michigan State University.  He served on boards for the Association of National Advertisers and Grocery Manufacturer’s Association.  He is an adjunct professor of marketing at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School where he teaches a course in new product marketing.

Michael Winslow

Michael began his career at McKinney & Silver and helped grow the agency into a national creative powerhouse.  Subsequently, he served as a partner and Chief Creative Officer at Rockett Burkhead & Winslow.  While there, the firm became the largest independent agency in the Southeast. 

Michael has built brands for North Carolina Travel and Tourism, Benihana, BB&T, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Duke Health, and GSK.  Along the way, he won One Show Gold and Silver Pencils, Art Director’s Club Gold Medals and the Stephen Kelly Award for best magazine campaign in global competition. 

A graduate of East Carolina University, Michael is in the UNC Journalism Advertising Hall of Fame and has been a frequent lecturer at UNC, East Carolina University and NC State University.



Dennis Wipper 

As a writer and creative director, Dennis has been creating powerful, strategic advertising and marketing for more than 25 years—and for more than ten years bringing that expertise to interactive media as well.  His agency experience includes Barefoot Proximity BBDO and Northlich in Cincinnati, Boston-based Arnold and North Carolina’s McKinney. 

Clients he has served include IBM, UNC Health Care, Deloitte & Touche, Wachovia and a number of Procter & Gamble brands.  His work has been recognized in award shows on the local, regional and national levels.

In addition, he has taught writing for advertising and marketing at the Rhode Island School of Design and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Dennis graduated from Kenyon College where he earned Phi Beta Kappa honors.


Laura Alderson

With broad experience in writing for industry, higher education and non-profits, Laura has expertise in Websites, corporate communications, press releases, advertising, direct mail, product launches, white papers and company/product naming.  Among clients served:  Fidelity Investments, KPMG, IBM, Eaton, UNC-Chapel Hill, the National Park Foundation, the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, Raytheon (Paris Air Show) and Duke University Medical Center.  

She’s also interviewed Andy Warhol, Mike Wallace, Ann Landers and Dizzy Gillespie.  An outdoorsy type, she’s caved beneath Virginia and West Virginia, climbed a few 14,000-foot peaks in Colorado and freelanced to National Geographic Traveler and National Wildlife.
Laura received a B.A. in journalism and radio, television and motion pictures from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a M.A. in English Writing from Hollins University. 

Mary Odegaard

From the subtlety of poetry to the complexity of B2B, Mary’s copywriting career encompasses an impressive diversity of marketing communications and styles.  Having previously worked at several Raleigh agencies, her client roster includes Hilton Head Island, Subway Restaurants, Pinehurst, Kodak and IBM, among other national brands.

Mary specializes in results-oriented campaigns with online, print, broadcast and non-traditional elements.  Her award-winning work has been credited with considerable increases in consumer response. A strategic creative partner, Mary develops exemplary copy that’s always on target.

Mary was born and raised in Iowa and earned a double major in journalism and Russian studies from Iowa State University.  She has been honored with membership in Phi Beta Kappa and various advertising industry awards.


David Salmon

David’s career began fresh out of the U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne and the University of Tennessee when he joined Benton & Bowles, NYC as a copywriter.  Since then, he has written and produced for Buntin Advertising, Nashville; Burton Campbell Kelly, Atlanta; Bozell, Dallas; and RBW, Raleigh.

In 1984 he began shooting and producing what he wrote.  David has created campaigns, videos and commercials for a variety of clients including IBM, Volvo, John Deere, Glaxo Smith Kline, Duke Medicine, Georgia Pacific, Novartis and BB&T.  

In 2009, he and Herb Campbell formed Big Fat Film, a full service film and digital production company.  David has won numerous, national awards and has taught communications at Vanderbilt University.  He holds a B.S. in communications from the University of Tennessee.

Shari Tourlitis

Shari began her media career with Coca-Cola Enterprises in Columbia, Maryland and subsequently served as media director for several advertising agencies in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Her responsibilities have included planning and execution of media buys utilizing television, cable, radio, print and interactive media including search engine marketing.  She is adept at negotiating rates, trafficking commercials, auditing and reconciling station invoices.

She was responsible for BB&T campaigns throughout the Southeast while with RBW in Raleigh.  Shari’s skills include Strata, SmartPlus and Microsoft Office Suite.  She earned Google and SEMPO certifications in search engine marketing and is a member of the Society to Advance Media Professionalism (STAMP) and the National Association of Female Executives.  Shari earned an A.S. in business administration from Anne Arundel Community College.


Sara Flowe

Intrigued by the variety of products, companies, and industries one encounters through a career in advertising, Sara decided to pursue this compelling path and has established herself as a skilled marketer who emphasizes originality, impeccable execution, and visible results. In her 10+ years of project and program management experience, she has implemented brand recommendations and strategic direction for clients such as UPS, United Way, ESPN, and Koru Village, among many others.

Sara recently graduated from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill in May of 2018, earning a Masters in Business Administration. She received a B.A. with honors in Political Science from St. Mary’s College of Maryland where she was also a member of the 2x National Champion Varsity Sailing Team. Sara’s passion for learning also drove her to complete post-baccalaureate studies in both graphic design and psychology, which she uses as influences in her work. 

Aubri Nelson

Aubri has applied her expertise in consulting, marketing, and data analysis both inside and outside the classroom, working with companies such as Grupo Bimbo Bakeries and Cisco Systems, Inc., to inform their strategic direction, consumer targets, and business plans. While in school, she also studies Public Policy in order to gain awareness and insight into policy problems facing society. This well-rounded background allows her to approach problem solving from a unique point of view.

Aubri is currently studying Business Administration with an emphasis in Consulting at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill Kenan-Flagler Business School. She will graduate in May 2019 and join the team at Cisco Systems, Inc., as a Business Analyst.

Isabel Adams

Isabel’s experience in marketing and communications spans non-profits, higher education, and hospitality. Drawn to marketing for its intersection of art and science, she excels at telling stories backed by data. Working with organizations such as the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, Southern Environmental Law Center, and Grupo Bimbo Bakeries, Isabel has delivered strategic visions, comprehensive marketing plans, and creative campaign content.

Isabel is currently earning her M.B.A. at the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School with a concentration in Marketing and an enrichment in Sustainable Enterprise. She received her B.A. in English from the University of Virginia, with a minor in Media Studies.
